I can see having cards in your deck that tap potential attackers, like Icy Manipulator and Opposition, so if an opponent doesnt draw a card from your commanders ability, you know you can keep your tap-down effects ready for potential attackers from their side of the battlefield

If your opponent wants to destroy your commander, they need to remove this first

Unfortunately, there are far more bad draws than good ones, which makes this hand (unbeknownst to me at the time) a very easy mulligan
